Phoenix Contact Goes off the Grid

I love it when my colleagues do all the heavy lifting for me. This time it's Editor in Chief Mike Bacidore of Control's sister publication, Plant Services

He's reporting on Phoenix Contact's new combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) system. In celebration of Earth Day, April 22, Phoenix Contact's  president, Jack Nehlig, will ceremonially disconnect from the electric grid. The CCHP system is a natural gas, fixed microturbine system that will generate enough electricity to power the company’s Americas headquarters about 65% of the time. It will also heat and cool the facility independent of external sources.

Pretty slick stuff going on in Middletown, Pa. Read the whole report here.
