Nick Sands from DuPont and the Standards and Practices Board, who with Marty Zielinski of Emerson Process Management, is the Managing Director of SP100, gave an inspiring little talk about what "consensus" really means and warned the committee that recent outbreaks of incivility will not be tolerated.
In a side conversation with Jose Gutierrez of Emerson Electric, I was told that the agreement to include WirelessHART is still in force, and that the current ideation is to make the first revision accommodation in the gateway, rather than in the radio. It would be better if it was a vendor-choice to do the accommodation in the radio, either by a dual stack system or a tunnelling system. But it is better to find a way to reach consensus, and do the changes later in release 2 or release 3, and in WirelessHART 7.1...
