Under United States patent number 8,222,869, O2Micro, a global leader in the design, development and marketing of high-performance integrated circuits and solutions, was issued 20 claims for its Battery Pre-Charging System and Method.
The patented system enables high efficiency charging when the battery voltage is lower than normal charging voltage. The patent also eliminates the need for extra components.
According to O2Micro's Strategic Marketing Director, Bill Densham, O2Micro's methodology is cost-effective, efficient and reduces power dissipation, compared to conventional designs.
