More disclosure fun…what game are these people playing?

US CERT issued an information notice on cyber incidents suspected of impacting private sector networks dated November 28, 2007. According to the notice, "US-CERT is aware of sophisticated attempts to compromise private sector networks, including critical infrastructures. The level of sophistication and scope of these cyber security incidents indicate they are coordinated and targeted at private sector systems. The primary infection vector has been Trojan emails...." As I asked in the previous blog, what does this exploit have to do with control systems and critical infrastructures?

 •
Joe,

The problem is that "critical infrastructures" means different things depending on the reader... to you (and most North Americans) it means power and pipeline systems. To the government, banking and other financials rate their own ISAC.

Maybe it's time for a terminology change.
