I would never, ever suggest that you take time away from your busy day to surf the Net on company time and on a company computer. That would be wrong. But -- in the course of your regular research -- you were to stumble on this link at the GE website, and were to spend a little time at it, just checking out the remarkable history of innovation at GE, well, that could be interpreted as being part of your job. We all know Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb, but who knew that GE was instrumental in the development of first electrically propelled navy vessel, night baseball, programmable digital clock radios, electronic theater lighting controls, dishwashers, and  the Cimplicity SCADA system? Could spend your lunch hour in a worse way. Just sayin' .
