Ron Parkin, from ConocoPhillips couldn't present his tal about the Customer Adisory Boards, so it was presented for him by Tom Kindervaden. Then, Honeywell PCS president Jack Bolick gave his vision for the future. His talk, as expected, centered extensively on wireless. But he also talked about the wins the Experion R300 has received in the year since release. As Roger Fradin had mentioned earlier, the 1500th Experion PKS system has shipped, with the 2000th to ship before the end of the year. He also pointed to wins in the biopharma space, especially with Genentech, and concluded this part of his talk by pointing out that, "Open systems enable you to achieve resulta across the entire enterprise." Like John Berra before him, Bolick proclaimed wireless superiority for Honeywell. "We have millions of sensors installed in security and building automation," he said, "and we're bringing that expertise over into the process automation space." He proclaimed that. "Wireless is here today! We are the leaders in wireless!" Bolick said that the first steps were to develop the first set of industrial wireless applications, and to actively support the industrial wireless standards-making activities of SP100, the HART Wireless Working Group, WINA and others. He went on to describe the "great wireless cloud" that will permit a single multifunctional network, within which security sensors, building sensors, asset management, wireless workers, and process sensors can interoperate and coexist. Bolick closed by asking the User Group for feedback. Walt Boyes BlackBerry service provided by Nextel
