Unibloc Pump reported Jan. 5 that it's continuing to grow its family of hygienic flow control brands by acquiring Standard Pump, which is also located in near Atlanta, Ga. This is the second acquisition in four months for Unibloc. In September 2021, it acquired Flotronic Pumps, a U.K.-based manufacturer of specialized hygienic, air-operated, double-diaphragm pumps and related accessories.
A May River Capital portfolio company, Unibloc is a 38-year-old manufacturer of positive displacement pumps, air-operated double-diaphragm pumps and other flow control products. Co-founded in 1992 by Don Murphy, Standard Pump is a 30-year-old manufacturer of sanitary and industrial process pumps, including drum pumps and other fluid handling equipment, which serve diverse process manufacturers in more than 50 countries.

Currently led by Murphy's sons, operations director Chris Murphy and sales director James Murphy, Standard Pump's 21,000-sq-ft facility in Duluth performs engineering, fabrication, testing, shipping and receiving. Both Chris Murphy and James Murphy will assume leadership roles at Unibloc, where their expertise will support commercial and operational excellence in partnership with Unibloc's leadership.
