Industry leaders  BASF, DOW, Shell and Southern Company gathered in May to discuss emerging best practices in process safety and cybersecurity at a technology conference sponsored by PAS, a leading automation software provider.

"The PAS Technology Conference is a unique forum for sharing safety and security information among companies that are otherwise competitors in the same sector," said Eddie Habibi, Founder and CEO of PAS. "When it comes to the important topics of protecting people and critical infrastructure, global companies collaborate openly and share their experiences. And they do it here at PTC2014."

This year’s conference, which was held in Houston, included how to enable a plant operator to critical decisions dealing with issues from minor production upsets to catastrophic incidents, which affect personnel safety, profitability and the environment.  Alarm management, high-performance operator interfaces, control-loop performance, integrated operational information, boundary management, and configuration management of highly proprietary industrial-control systems were also discussed.

PAS also unveiled new safe operations, advanced-information visualization and cybersecurity management products at this conference in addition to key alliances and partnerships.
