Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories – MCAA Survey

Feb. 28, 2010
As part of their mandate to help the automation profession and in particular their members, the Measurement, Control & Automation Association (MCAA) (www.measure.org) is conducting a pair of surveys to gain a better understanding of the industry’s need or desire for reciprocity among and across the various certification agencies for electronic devices used in industrial automation.

The survey comes in two flavours, one for End Users (anyone who does not make their living from selling products) and Suppliers (manufacturers and their representatives). If you can help and have a few minutes (survey should only take 5-10 minutes) please select the appropriate link below:

All of us in North America are familiar with FM, UL, and CSA and fortunately, courtesy of the North America Free Trade Agreement there is now much more reciprocity and recognition of each other’s testing between these organisations. This survey is hoping to gather data from a range of people so that they can provide feedback to not only their members but also the government of the USA to hopefully make it easier for everyone to source automation equipment across industries while continuing to meet the safety requirements of our facilities.

MCAA is a trade association for companies who manufacture and distribute process control, field measurement and analysis instrumentation, systems and software used in industrial process control and factory automation environment.
