Oakridge National Laboratory is hosting the above workshop November 8 – 10 at their facilities in Oakridge Tennessee with the intent of focusing on the Future of Instrumentation.

Oakridge National Laboratory is hosting the above workshop November 8 – 10 at their facilities in Oakridge Tennessee with the intent of focusing on the Future of Instrumentation. As stated on their website the workshops want to provide focus  and venue to address the issues related to the increasing level of “instrumentation embedded into an expansive array of applications (biotech, medical, astronomical, industrial, consumer, etc) we are striving to bring an array of technologists, analysts, business leaders to investigate the impact of current trends in instrumentation technology on application areas including those already mentioned as well as the electric grid, renewable energy sources, modular reactor technologies, intelligent building controls, energy efficiency, and related topics.”


The planned workshop tracks include: Instrumentation for Energy Efficiency and Energy Security, Environmental, Climatology and Building Technology, Instrumentation for Renewable Energy, Nuclear Energy Instrumentation, Embedded Systems in Advanced Instrumentation, Instrumentation and Wireless Technologies, and Sensing and Controls for Smart Manufacturing. The schedule is to run Monday November 8, 2010 from 08:30 – 17:30 with Presentations follows by Poster sessions until 19:00 and a reception and dinner that evening. Additional presentations will be made between 08:30 – 15:00 on Tuesday and then classified sessions will continue the balance of the day Tuesday and all day Wednesday in Building 5300.
