East-West Institute First World Wide Cyber Security Summit and Mike Assante

    Two items occurred today that I will expand on in later blogs.  The first is I am at the East-West Institute First World Wide Cyber Security Summit.  There are approximately 500 attendees from 40 countries.  Apparently, I am the only representative from the industrial control systems community.  I will provide more on the Summit which goes through tomorrow in a later blog.  The second item is today NERC announced the resignation of Mike Assante effective the end of the month.  This is a big loss to NERC and the industry.  I believe for NERC to maintain its integrity, it must find a l

    Two items occurred today that I will expand on in later blogs.  The first is I am at the East-West Institute First World Wide Cyber Security Summit.  There are approximately 500 attendees from 40 countries.  Apparently, I am the only representative from the industrial control systems community.  I will provide more on the Summit which goes through tomorrow in a later blog.  The second item is today NERC announced the resignation of Mike Assante effective the end of the month.  This is a big loss to NERC and the industry.  I believe for NERC to maintain its integrity, it must find a leader of Mike’s quality who, like Mike, places the reliability and security of the grid above all other considerations.
