Book on ICS electronic security

Dec. 2, 2009
Many people have been asking about useful books on the subject of cyber security of industrial control systems (ICS). From what I can tell, there are only a very few that are credible, but even they don't address many of what I consider to be important issues. Consequently, I now have a first draft of my book to the publisher that should be out in the January timeframe. The working title is "Protecting Industrial Control Systems from Electronic Threats".
I have deliberately not used the term "Cyber Security" in the book title as the term "cyber security" carries too much baggage and doesn’t imply the full range of potential ICS electronic threats. I have also not used the term SCADA as that is only one of the many control systems lumped under the term "ICS". Securing ICSs from electronic threats is a discipline that is still maturing. I think this book will be an important resource given the attention being focused on Smart Grid security, possible legislation and regulation, and continuing ICS cyber incidents. More details will follow. Joe Weiss
