Weiss quoted in WSJ on Obama's Cybersecurity Plans

In an article posted on the Wall Street Journal's website by WSJ reporter Andrew LaVallee, Unfettered blogger Joe Weiss is quoted:

Mr. Obama’s remarks focused on defense and information networks but less on the security of electrical grids, power plants and refineries, said Joe Weiss, a control-system engineer who has testified before Congress on industrial infrastructure.

Mr. Obama’s remarks focused on defense and information networks but less on the security of electrical grids, power plants and refineries, said Joe Weiss, a control-system engineer who has testified before Congress on industrial infrastructure.

“Because they’re so different, often the technology that you would use to secure your laptop may or may not secure control systems — may, in fact, hurt the control system,” he said. “Unless there’s a conscious focus and change, much of what’s going on in Washington isn’t going to matter to keep the lights on or water flowing.”
