Received this email from Marty Zielinski, the co-convenor of SP100, and loyal Emerson employee:
Walt,
One of the objectives of this week of meetings was to consolidate some of the 25 proposals into a smaller number. Here is one consolidation among them:
Advanced Industrial Networks
Apprion
Certicom
Emerson
Dust Networks
Dan Sexton
Invensys
Machine Talker
Maximum Control Technologies
Nanotron
NewTrax Technologies
Oak Ridge Nat lab
Sensicast
Siemens
Software Technology Group
TI/Chipcon
This group hopes to achieve the following:
a number of companies and organizations with Like-minded/complementary proposals have decided to work together to create a joint User-Centric proposal・
Called the SP100 Collaboration Initiative, the developed SP100 proposal will address the needs of the ISA SP100 use cases for all industries including process control, factory automation, utilities, underground mines, and others.・
We will work together to take the key elements of our proposals and technology expertise to create a cohesive, high impact proposal that addresses the needs of SP100.11 and SP100.14 in a single well laid out structure that includes the 7 layer ISO model, Security and Network Management.・
Please note that The approach will not include a push to standardize existing products (this is NOT vendor specific), but an attempt to do the right things to address our customers needs.
This was announced today at the end of the meeting.
Marty
