HONEYWELL TECHNOLOGY TRAINING NEXT GENERATION OF ENGINEERS AT FH WESTKUESTE, HEIDE Students Receive Training On Experion PKS Heide, Germany, Aug. 7, 2006 - Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced that it has completed an implementation of Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS), Profit® Controller and UniSimâ„¢ Operations suite at FH Westkueste, Heide, one of Northern Germany's leading universities for control and automation. The Honeywell products have been set-up in a lab for FH Westkueste undergraduate engineering students who will now be able to configure and test their own applications using Honeywell's most up-to-date systems. "Before we implemented the Honeywell system, the university was training students on technology which was more than five years old," said Rein Visser, Honeywell Country Business Leader Germany. "Using Honeywell's hardware and software solutions, the students will have practical training using the industry's most recent technology and have access to the full functionality of our control and automation systems. Undergraduates will benefit from having the best training that will enable them to get a head start when finding jobs in industry." Experion PKS is Honeywell's process control solution which integrates an advanced automation platform and innovative software applications to improve business performance. The Experion platform provides innovative technologies to help operators get the most out of their plant and to connect safely and securely with the business network. Profit Controller is Honeywell's multivariable control and optimization application for complex and highly interactive industrial processes. As the foundation of Honeywell's layered optimization approach, Profit Controller provides the base for increasing economic benefits in the process in a user-friendly environment. 2- FH Westkueste Heide The UniSim Operations suite is Honeywell's operator training solution, which can be used for control system checkout. Training operators and engineers how to respond during upset conditions is critical to helping reduce potential incidents. Honeywell was selected based on its strong relationship with FH Westkueste spanning over several years. Experts from Honeywell regularly lecture at the university, meeting with the next generation of engineers. Honeywell plans to continue working closely with other leading universities with strong ties to the process industries.
