Watlow announced that it has attained Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) certification on its Hydrosafe indirect heat exchanger. A certificate of compliance to the INMETRO regulations ensures electrical and electronic products can be sold and distributed in Brazil.
INMETRO is the Brazilian government body responsible for the implementation of measurement, safety and quality standards for electrical and electronic products. It guides the activities of accreditation, inspection, testing and certification bodies in the country.
“Watlow is excited to have this key certification on our entire Hydrosafe system. Unlike certification claims from other companies that offer component level coverage, Watlow’s INMETRO certification covers the entire Hydrosafe assembly making it suitable for Class 1, Zones 1 and 2, Groups B, C & D,” said Dennis Long, Watlow’s director of marketing within the energy and environmental technologies business unit.
HYDROSAFE is the preferred thermal solution for dry gas seal systems that are used on centrifugal compressors and similar equipment utilizing dry gas seal technology. The product’s indirect heating technology ensures safe operation for temperature codes T2, T3 or T4 as well as reliable operation within a wide range of ambient temperatures ranging from -60°C to 80°C. Hydrosafe is also rated with protection type IECEx db for safe use in hazardous locations.
