AMC serves a multitude of industries including automotive, food packaging, medical, appliance, metalworking, electronics, glass, pharmaceutical, alternative energies and household products

Through its FlexLink division, Coesia reported Feb. 13 that it’s purchased Automation & Modular Components LLC. AMC builds automated material handling systems with integrated controls, as well as conveyors for integration into assembly systems and production lines. Thanks to its higher-load applications, AMC serves a multitude of industries including automotive, food packaging, medical, appliance, metalworking, electronics, glass, pharmaceutical, alternative energies and household products.

AMC is expected to strengthen Coesia and FlexLink’s presence on the U.S. market, especially in the battery sector, where combined assembly or production processes need to handle heavy and light material-handling applications.

“We’re glad to welcome AMC into our group. We consider it to be a strategic asset, especially for developing of FlexLink. Its robotic and material handling expertise will be enhanced and expanded by AMC’s heavyweight conveyance systems,” says Alessandro Parimbelli, CEO at Coesia. “Introducing AMC into Coesia’s portfolio in the U.S. will enhance its capabilities, and allow the group to continue becoming a dominant solution provider in the automation industry.”

Dick Shore, former owner of AMC, adds, “Coesia with FlexLink is the perfect home for AMC to continue on its growth path, further expand its global presence, and keep helping companies in more than 25 industries across six continents produce goods faster and more consistently.

Headquartered in Bologna, Italy, Coesia is a worldwide group of 20 companies specializing in industrial and packaging solutions. It operates in 36 countries with 86 production plants in 133 operating units, employing more than 8,000 employees.
