The Fieldbus Foundation has announced the availability of FOUNDATION H1 Interoperability Test Kit (ITK), Version 6.1.2. This powerful tool tests the functionality of an H1 (31.25 kbit/s) fieldbus device and its conformity with the FOUNDATION function block and transducer block specifications.
The H1 ITK tests some of the most cutting edge features of FOUNDATION fieldbus, including backwards compatibility and advanced diagnostics. It is invaluable for instrumentation suppliers seeking to employ the most advanced fieldbus capabilities.
Backwards compatibility, the top requested feature by the end user community, makes it possible for a new device revision to operate on the old device's Device Description (DD) until the system can be updated with the latest DD file to take full advantage of the enhanced features and capabilities. It is an important part of developing simplified device replacement for the user community and the Fieldbus Foundation's Usability initiative as a whole.
H1 ITK 6.1.2 includes minor maintenance enhancements:
- Bug fixes for Output Splitter Function Block, Analog Alarm Function Block and Control Selector Function Block
- Test case updates for Device Replacement
- Updated NI-FBUS Communication Manager
The H1 ITK 6.1.2 update is available to those who have an active maintenance agreement for their H1 ITK tool.
