The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) website, "Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)," covers hazard recognition, medical information, how its standards apply to protecting workers from COVID-19, control and prevention and added resources. The main webpage also links to a 35-page PDF publication, "Guidance on preparing workplaces for COVID-19," that covers workplace impacts, ways to reduce and classify exposures, low/medium/high job classifications, and OSHA assistance services.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's website includes many useful sub-pages on COVID-19 topics for different users, such as its often-updated "Interim guidance for businesses and employers" that covers preparing workplaces, reducing transmission among employees, maintaining healthy operations, and maintaining health facility environments.

Articles, advice from ARC

The webpage, "Impact of COVID-19 on industrial markets" by ARC Advisory Group, details its recent efforts to research and respond to the corona virus, and includes links to more than 20 online reports about the pandemic. Some of their topics include: automation market and supply chain; how smart cities technologies can help; lessons for industrial cybersecurity; imperatives for digital transformation; and a 20-item planning guide.

Mapping industry sectors

This online article, "Mapping the road to recovery for the industrial and energy markets amid COVID-19" by Ram Ramasamy of Frost & Sullivan, summarizes how the coronavirus is affecting supply and demand in several industrial sectors, including food and beverage, electronics and semiconductors, life sciences, chemicals, automotive, utilities and water, and oil and gas.

This four-minute video, "COVID-19 is harming the global economy" by John Carter, senior editor, political economy desk, South China Morning Post, provides a good encapsulation of how the pandemic is hitting economies worldwide. "The measures and anticipated steep falls in production have created major uncertainty for the global economy," says Carter. "But what does this mean for normal people on one hand, and those directly involved with finance and business on the other?"

Tackling financial fallout

This five-minute video, "Coronavirus: how to tackle the economic crisis" by Martin Sandbu, European economics commentator for the Financial Times, analyzes the emergency measures taken by governments and central banks to deal with the global financial and economic fallout from COVID-19, such as reducing interest rates, intervening in financial markets and buying assets.
