  • To increase its industrial automation infrastructure offerings, Panduit has purchased Network Vision Inc.s IntraVue diagnostic and visualization software for industrial Ethernet-based networks.
  • Process safety provider exida announced July 23 the opening of its new office in Abu Dhabi, UAE, as part of its commitment to improve service to customers in the Middle East, expand its ability to improve safety, and reduce costs for uses of safety instrumented systems.
  • IFS, the global enterprise applications company, recently agreed to buy VisionWaves B.V. for an undisclosed sum. VisionWaves provides operational intelligence software that helps users accelerate their strategies and boost business performance.
  • Siemens USA recently donated eight variable frequency drives (VFDs) to the Electronics and Instrumentation Technology program at Victoria College (VC) in Victoria, Tex. The VFDs will be part of VC's AC/DC motor control class, and give its students hands-on experience with VFDs.
  • ETAP, a provider of software solutions for design, analysis, optimization and real-time operation of electrical power systems, is expanding, and opening a second campus in Irvine, Calif., which will house its automation business unit, real-time products and services.
  • Gas Technology Institute (GTI) reported July 20 that it's acquired Aerojet Rocketdyne's (AR) energy systems portfolio, including its Power & Energy Solutions group, which has developed technology for clean fossil energy systems.
  • Kepware Technologies reports it recently opened its first international office in Tokyo, Japan. While it has solid footholds in more than 100 countries through channel partners, this first international location will enable Kepware to interact more closely with customers and partners in the region.
