ProSys and UCDS Become Partners, Beckhoff Automation Gets New president, Fieldbus Foundation Reaches Milestone and Hoffer Flow
  • Alarm management system provider ProSys and User Centered Design Services Inc. (UCDS) have formed a partnership to develop an operator training certification.
  • Aurelio Banda became Beckhoff Automation's president of North American operations effective Jan. 1. The subsidiary's current president, Graham Harris, will assume a regional management role as part of a planned transition from the leadership role he has held since 2003.
  • The Fieldbus Foundation has reached the milestone of 1,000 registered devices. The foundation's program ensures registered fieldbus devices deliver all the benefits of the Foundation protocol, and are fully interoperable with other registered devices on the same fieldbus control network.
  • Bob Carrell of Hoffer Flow Controls was elected chairman and Joe Incontri of Krohne Inc. will serve as vice-chairman of the Measurement, Control & Automation Association (MCAA). Peter G. Martin of Schneider Electric-Invensys and Stan Ronna of Automation Products Group were elected to director-at-large positions.
