Condition manager collects real-time diagnostics from plant production assets

Invensys is offering a new intelligent real-time condition management component for the company's InFusion enterprise control system (ECS).

The new InFusion Condition Manager builds upon Invensys' Avantis.CM technology to collect real-time condition data from an even broader range of plant data sources and to interoperate with the full range of Invensys and third-party applications supported through the InFusion application environment. Like Avantis.CM, InFusion Condition Manager provides tools for analyzing and contextualizing the data and applies an expert rule set that first triggers and then manages the appropriate operations, engineering or maintenance actions to balance asset availability and utilization and align overall plant performance with business objectives.

InFusion Condition Manager collects, aggregates and analyzes real-time data from the full array of plant production assets. These can include intelligent field devices, such as sensors and actuators; rotating and non-rotating equipment, such as pumps, motors, compressors, turbines, dryers and heat exchangers; and even entire process units. This real-time asset information is then put into proper context and made available to other plant and enterprise systems within the InFusion ECS environment.

The InFusion enterprise control system combines industry-leading capabilities from across Invensys with advanced enterprise information and integration technologies from both Microsoft and SAP. With InFusion technology, most existing automation and enterprise systems can now be cost-effectively integrated into a common system.
