Wind River launched Jan. 27 the first release of its Wind River Studio, a cloud-native platform for developing, deploying, operating and servicing mission-critical intelligent systems that require security, safety and reliability. It's designed to enable flexible and efficient deployment, management and operating of intelligent 5G distributed edge cloud-computing through one interface.
Wind River reports it already powers most 5G RAN deployments, and that Studio's capabilities will help service providers deploy and manage physically distributed, ultra-low latency cloud-native infrastructure through one HMI with:
- A cloud-native, Kubernetes- and container-based architecture for deploying and managing distributed edge networks at scale;
- Network analytics with an integrated data collection, monitoring, and reporting tool to optimize management and operation of a distributed cloud network; and
- Core-to-edge orchestration for efficient management and automation of distributed cloud networks and application services, including managing containers, network elements, and edge devices.
Other capabilities of StudioGA include a far-edge cloud infrastructure for 5G, zero-touch deployment, analytics and container orchestration. It also has public-preview capabilities, including a DevSecOps toolchain, digital twin, digital feedback loop, device security and OTA.
