Softing Facilitates FOUNDATION Production Process Tool Development

Softing has announced the availability of a product bundle designed to support device manufacturers in developing specific FOUNDATION fieldbus product process tools. It combines the required hardware and software components for accessing a FOUNDATION fieldbus network and provides an easy-to-use .NET interface for integration.

For example, manufacturers can use this product bundle to swiftly develop field device commissioning tools, test and parameterization tools for a field device production process, or to develop software to download firmware via the fieldbus interface.

The product bundle includes:

• FFusb – FOUNDATION fieldbus-to-USB interface that connects directly to FOUNDATION fieldbus H1 networks from a PC or notebook and does not interfere with a running fieldbus segment. It is well suited to develop tools for pre-configuration or firmware updates of field devices and is ideal for configuring small H1 networks or for monitoring individual field devices, function blocks and function block parameters, especially for production tests.
• FF-CIT – Software library offering the complete functionality needed to configure a FOUNDATION fieldbus H1 network, including the configuration of topology and communication parameters, the definition of the function block schedule, and the configuration download to field devices.
• FF-CIT .NET Wrapper – Integrates the complete FF-CIT functionality with any state-of-the-art .NET application.
