Wireless gateway in the center

1410S wireless gateway is the central instrument in an industrial, wireless network, and determines the best communication path between devices and host systems. Available in DIN rail and modular housing styles for mounting flexibility, 1410S lets users create a wireless field network with a capacity of more than 200 WirelessHART devices, fitting the needs of even the most challenging applications. New software features are included such as OPC-UA server integration.

IO-Link master modules and sensors

Stride and Murrelektronik IO-Link master modules interface between field devices and higher-level controllers/information systems, and control data traffic between connected devices. They convert IO-Link signals to/from EtherNet/IP, OPC-UA and MQTT protocols. Stride will convert IO-Link data to EtherNet/IP messages for better insight into system performance, using a well-established fieldbus protocol. Murrelektronik provides the same advantages as the lower-cost Stride, with added OPC and MQTT capabilities.

Five ports with auto-negotiation

852-111 100Base-TX industrial eco switch from Wago has five ports, each featuring auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDI-X detection. It lets 10 Mbps networks be upgraded effortlessly to higher-speed, 100 Mbps fast Ethernet networks. 852-111 creates multiple segments to alleviate congestion and provide dedicated bandwidth to each user node. 852-111 meets demands for IP-based communication. It can be easily configured and installed, and is suited for small- to medium-sized networks.

Switch with double-protected power

EKI-2725/2728 unmanaged Ethernet switch supports Gigabit Ethernet. Its power is a 12 ~ 48 VDC redundant input design that’s secured with a double protection mechanism—power polarity reverse protection that tolerates reverse power wiring, and an overload current resettable fuse that secures the system from overload currents. Each port of EKI-2725/2728 has two LEDs to show link status transmission speed and collision status.

Interference-free data, long distances

Industrial Gateway has two Ethernet ports and two- and four-port serial options for connecting controllers and devices across multiple protocols. It can move data between PLCs and slave (server) devices—each with a different protocol. It runs at 10/100 Mbps, full duplex, connects with an eight-pin RJ45, and serves as the master for EtherNet/IP, EtherNet.IP-PCCC, Modbus TCP and S7 protocols. Its RS 232/485 serial protocols include Modbus RTU, Modbus ASCII, DF1-CIP, DF1-PCCC, PPI, DirectNET, CCM and HostLink.

Secure control nodes enable connectivity

OSA Remote control nodes provide secure Internet and cloud links without a gateway. They support standard protocols, including EtherNet/IP, Modbus, EtherCAT, Profinet, HART I/O, and secure MQTT Sparkplug B and OPC UA with TLS-encrypted links. Users configure applications via free IEC 61131-3-compliant development environment, and can access OSA View or other secure HMIs. Up to 20 fully programmable I/O, 64 GB secure flash memory, 512 MB of program memory, and a multicore ARM Cortex processor enable unrivaled performance.

Bedrock Automation

Switch extends temperature range

FL Switch 1000 unmanaged Ethernet switches include NT versions with an extended temperature range, and approvals for process and maritime applications. 1000NT switches are available in 10/100 and Gigabit versions, and allow Automation Protocol Prioritization (APP), so critical data packets from EtherNet/IP, Profinet and other protocols are sent through the network first. FL Switch’s robust housing has high noise immunity, and can operate at -40 °C to 75 °C, so they’re suitable for use in demanding applications.

IO-Links masters support protocols

ICE2 for EtherNet/IP and ICE3 for Profinet series IO-Link masters provide the most versatile industrial IO-Link master solutions supporting the industry’s leading protocols, including EtherNet/IP, Profinet and Modbus TCP. ICE2 and ICE3 modules come with a full web-based configuration approach with no need for any additional software or a higher-level PLC. Together with an integrated OPC-UA interface, these IO-Link masters are the ideal solution for cloud-based and hybrid systems.

Compact switches manage energy

E-CO compact, unmanaged switches with five, eight or 16 ports are suitable for universal communications, and feature QoS that allows data prioritization, auto-negotiation and auto-crossing. They offer an AC/DC input voltage range of DC 12 V to 48 V as well as AC 24 V. E-CO’s compact metal housing with IP30 and an extended temperature range of -40 °C to 75 °C make these DIN rail or panel mountable switches suitable for harsh environments and compliant with the IEEE 802.3az standard.

Managed switch with 10 Gigabit ports

Xelity 10 TX IP67 managed switch has up to 10 Gigabit ports in a space-saving, robust, IP 67-rated housing for decentralized, cabinet-free data management. The 10 switches are available in three models: 10 x 100 Mbit/s, 10 x 1,000 Mbit/s, and 2 x 1,000 Mbit/s plus 8 x 100 Mbit/s. Each can be ordered for Profinet. Xelity 10 has L-coded, M12 power connectors (four- or five-pin) that ensure fast connections, and can daisy chain several devices, as long as their combined power doesn’t exceed 16A.

Long-reach switches cut power use

ADIN2111 two-port Ethernet switches from Analog Devices are a single-chip solution for 10BASE-T1L line, ring and daisy-chain networks. They slash power consumption up to 50% and reduce board space up to 75% compared to discrete implementations. ADIN2111 also adds Long Reach Ethernet connectivity to devices. ADIN2111 supports line lengths up to 1,700 meters while consuming only 77 mW. The two PHY cores support 1 V or 2.4 V swing data transfer voltages from 1.8 V to 3.3 V supply voltage.

Mouser Electronics Inc.

Cable tester expands connectivity

LinkIQ cable and network tester has upgraded its ability to test and troubleshoot IP networks, test industrial Ethernet cabling, and support users in 12 languages. Its new Version 1.1 software is shipping in all new units and is available as a free upgrade to existing users. Users can verify connectivity and response time to network devices with one touch of the screen. LinkIQ can also be configured to perform IPv4 or v6 ping tests, and will display the response time for four pings to a target device selected the user.

Fluke Networks

Temperature measurement via Ethernet

BusWorks NT expandable, modular, remote, Ethernet I/O modules are adjustable for temperature measurement. NT2610 modules have eight thermocouple/millivolt inputs and two bidirectional discrete digital I/O channels. Each input can support sensors. NTE Ethernet models provide a network interface to monitor temperatures. Appending NTX expansion models can interface up to 32 TC/mV sensor inputs at one IP address. The modules provide field-selectable Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP or Profinet.

Self-configuring I/O modules

Self-configuring I/O modules are flexible, cost-effective, provide detailed diagnostics, and are equipped with four, eight or 16 digital signals, each of which can be used as input or output. These I/O modules simplify planning and spare parts management because the same modules can be implemented in different applications. They’re available with various connection types, and can connect to ASi/AUX via profile cable, M12 connector or push-in terminal.
