My ear catches fire when President Obama mentions "high-tech manufacturing hubs." Sounds like control and automation to me, but we may need to reach out from this side, too.
I normally avoid State of the Union addresses, but President Obama’s mention of “high-tech manufacturing hubs” last night set the cartilage on the side of my head ablaze, so to speak. So, I wrote a little item for our sister website and blog, Control Design’s Machine Builder Forum. But, it then occurred to me that readers of Control’s Controlling Interests blog might be just as interested. Whether they’re in the discrete or process industries, high-tech hubs could be good for everyone, right? Well, if you’re interested, you can check it out here: www.controldesign.com/blogs/heardondiscrete/high-tech-manufacturing-hub-sounds-like-control-to-me/. Oh, and if “high-tech hubs” turns out to be about spinning hubcaps, please don’t tell me; I don’t want to know.
