I will be providing the keynote October 23rd at the 2019 EnergyTech Conference in Cleveland (https://www.energytech.org/). The keynote will address changing the paradigm of control system cyber security. The existing approach of network monitoring is necessary but not sufficient to cyber secure control systems. The proposed approach will be adding process sensor monitoring (process anomaly detection) to existing network monitoring (network anomaly detection). The sensor monitoring approach is not specific to cyber security but detects sensor/process anomalies for any reason. The approach would identify when to use existing or new “tool boxes” for cyber security, sensor calibration, process analysis, etc.
