Emerson sells to Calpine, Veran to Embridge, SimSci-Esscor to Amerada Hess

Emerson Process Management,

Pittsburgh, will provide power plant control systems to Calpine, San Jose, Calif. The systems include PlantWeb architecture, Ovation control systems, HART field devices, and AMS software, and will be installed at power plants in Beloit, Wis., and Weld County, Colo.

Verano, Mansfield, Mass., will supply Industrial Defender Watch software to provide security for the pipeline infrastructure of Embridge, Calgary, Alberta. The software checks for faults in system components or attacks by cyber terrorists. Embridge operates 35,000 miles of crude oil and liquids pipeline in the U.S. and Canada.

SimSci-Esscor, Lake Forest, Calif., will supply process simulation software and related services to Amerada Hess, Woodbridge, N.J. The software, valued at $700,000, will be used at AHs engineering facility in Woodbridge and at its refineries in Port Reading, N.J., and St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
