Siemens SCADA Specialists and Consultants to Provide Best Practices

With the increased visibility of safety and cyber security in the industrial space, Siemens announced today that it will bolster its user conference program to provide more in-depth analysis and discussion about safety and cyber security with its customers at the 2011 Siemens Automation Summit, June 27-29, in Orlando, Fla.

This and other networking and industrial security topics will be a highlight of the  Automation Summit which is designed to provide engineering and operational professionals, automation and operations management and senior-level executives with end user learning opportunities covering the complete spectrum of automation--from process and discrete to motion control and drives.

"Siemens is, and will continue to be, the benchmark for industrial and plant security.  Siemens has a strong portfolio and successfully defeated Trojans and PLC hackers. Our integrated security portfolio is based on a three-tier strategy of industrial-IT security services, security management, and concepts for the security of PC's, controllers and networks,” says Raj Batra, president of the Industry Automation Division for Siemens Industry, Inc.  “Our Automation Summit provides a unique setting to gain valuable feedback from our customers.”

Automation Summit will feature an entire track dedicated to safety and cyber security topics, as well as a roundtable discussion about current and future trends.

Breakout sessions include topics such as determining threats and risks of industrial control systems, how Stuxnet spreads, network behavior-based intrusion detection systems, top performance in industrial security systems and new solutions for effective industrial IT security, among others.  The Automation Summit will also feature a panel discussion on cyber security.

Presenters include a host of Siemens technical and product specialists, as well as Eric Byres, Byres Security; Mark Chambers, Astec Inc.; John deKrafft, AE Solutions; Joel Langill, SCADAhacker; Howard Page, McAfee, Inc.; Tyler Williams, Wurldtech Security Technologies; and Todd Stauffer and John Cusimano, exida Consulting, LLC.
