The Human Network – Kuwait

Dec. 6, 2010
I have just returned from an enjoyable two weeks in Kuwait where I was teaching SAIT’s Certified FF Professional course to a corporate client and what it did reinforce was that the most important network we can all join is the Human Network, so watch for more similar themed posts in the future – likely after trips to various parts of the world or meetings whose express purpose is to exchange information and I believe as importantly business cards.

While in Kuwait, I was able to meet a number of people beyond my students who share a passion for our industry. Among these are the leadership of the local ISA Section who on short notice arranged a local Section meeting and had over 35 people attend – from a membership of fewer than 100 members. The attached photo, from a cell phone shows the room and attendees. The topic was trends in industrial communications wired and wireless with many good questions from those present and a genuine interest in how all these changes will affect them and the many projects on which they are working.

My trip to Kuwait was not only financial rewarding but also on the personal level as I was able to enjoy another culture – thank you to everyone in Kuwait who helped by taking me for local cuisine meals and guidance on what to see during the weekend, but also because I now have additional friends in another part of the world. Thank you!
