OUT of Control-- Marketing Lessons from the Grateful Dead, via Joe Kaulfersch #pauto

Hi All,

This is a great article on marketing lessons from the Greatful Dead. This is from Pragmatic Marketing Magazine. It caught my eye because I was an old rock and roller as a starving disc jockey in Santa Clara, California in the early 70's. Actually I was good friends with most of the guys in the Eagles band and Linda Ronstadt. It shows that you have to be the "purple cow" in the field or else you won't be noticed, and your product will be considered a commodity.

This brought back some strong memories for me, because I too was involved in that scene.  I knew many of the Merry Pranksters, and was the young kid who tagged along. The Dead made it look easy, but it wasn't.
