ABB appoints Luis Duran to manage Americas region safety systems business development


Wickliffe, Ohio, February 17, 2009 –ABB announced today that it has appointed Luis Duran as Business Development Manager for Safety Systems in the Americas region. In his new role, Duran will expand and develop the safety systems market for ABB’s next generation System 800xA High Integrity safety system offering. He will be based in Houston, Texas.

Wickliffe, Ohio, February 17, 2009 –ABB announced today that it has appointed Luis Duran as Business Development Manager for Safety Systems in the Americas region. In his new role, Duran will expand and develop the safety systems market for ABB’s next generation System 800xA High Integrity safety system offering. He will be based in Houston, Texas.

Most recently, Duran was Product Marketing Director for the Safety and Critical Control product line for Invensys (Triconex).   


Duran holds a Functional Safety Engineer certification from TÜV.  In addition, he has an MBA from the Universidad Simon Bolivar Caracas, Venezuela and an Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the same institution.
