Don't forget Emerson's history...

Jerry Moon just sent me an interesting press release about a worldwide agreement between Emerson and Solutia to replace aging Provox systems with DeltaV... This got me thinking about roots. Jerry Moon just sent me an interesting press release about a worldwide agreement between Emerson and Solutia to replace aging Provox systems with DeltaV... This got me thinking about roots. Remember, unless you are too young to, that what became the Provox, and its linear successor, the DeltaV, was first engineered at Monsanto, which is mostly the predecessor of Solutia. Monsanto even owned Fisher Controls, which was a significant portion of what became Fisher-Rosemount and what is now Emerson Process Management. Honeywell, as I have pointed out, is the only automation company to own a real live set of chemical plants to use as a testbed for product development and beta testing. But let's not forget that Emerson has long and close ties with Solutia for the same things.
