One of the highlights of the Applied Control Solutions August Control System Cyber Security Conference will be a demonstration of a cyber attack on a typical process control safety system. The attack will traverse a firewall faulting both a typical controller and safety system without an indication at the operator displays until after the process fails in a non-fail safe manner.   The purpose of the demonstration is to validate several points:Control system domain expertise is important to perform the hack -  The demonstration validates the recent INL demonstration that equipment can be damaged by a cyber attack
