THE HART Communication Foundation (HCF) is offering a free online educational series on the HART Field Communications Protocol, the global standard for smart process instrumentation. The mini-courses are a user-friendly learning tool for HART users and suppliers who want to know more about the capabilities of HART technology how it works, the untapped resources it holds, and its value to plant operations.
Even though the installed base of HART-enabled devices is the largest of all communication protocols at more than 15 million worldwide and 70 percent of all smart instruments installed each year use HART Communication, most users are unaware of the many benefits the technology can provide, says HCF Executive Director Ron Helson.
We are providing these free courses in an effort to close that information gap and offer anyone who uses HART technology, from the novice to the most advanced specialist, the opportunity to learn more about this powerful communication technology.
The three-part series of free courses available at the HCF website will include:
- HART Basics what is it and how does it work including wiring and installation concepts;
- HART Applications how to get and use HART data and benefit from real-time integration with control, safety and asset management systems;
- HART in all phases of the plant life cycle how HART technology delivers benefits from planning and engineering to asset productivity.
