Engineers Without Borders International reported Apr. 20 that it’s partnering with Bentley Systems to bring together the global EWB movement and unite the engineering sector, so millions more people can benefit from addressing today’s most pressing challenges and accelerating progress for a sustainable and equitable future for all. The partnership includes five years of core funding and executive insights, and will strengthens the capacity of EWB International to drive collaboration and cooperation within the movement, deliver better results, and unlock its global impact.

EWB is presently a network of more than 30 national organizations that operations in more than 90 countries. This new partnership aims to unite EWB organizations as a global force for good, providing the engineering leadership needed to tackle global challenges humanity faces at a meaningful scale. These include the climate crisis and lack access to clean drinking water, improved sanitation facilities, nutritious food, safe housing and reliable energy.

“I’m so excited by the united vision of the EWB movement,” says Dan Koval, corporate initiatives manager at Bentley. “I believe it’s pivotal moment to be supporting that coordination, and I’m proud Bentley Systems is the first partner to make that investment. I’m looking forward to working with the team and advancing infrastructure together.”

EWB organizations are already delivering on this vision, and changing lives daily by delivering critical infrastructure to communities in need and people in crisis, and reimagining the future by nurturing new engineering solutions and building a compassionate and eager engineering community. The potential of its partnership with Bentley is greater efficiency and increased scale.

“It means a lot to have a partnership with Bentley Systems,” adds Boris Martin, president of EWB International. “The company has strong environmental, social and governance (ESG) credentials and that matters to us. We carefully choose our partners, and Bentley promotes the same values and principles that we do—putting people and the planet first in our engineering and striving for a better world for everyone.”
