Honeywell acquires Sparkmeter’s data platform and software technologies

Sept. 17, 2025
The acquisition expands Smart Energy utility solutions and builds Honeywell Forge Performance+ for Utilities’ capabilities

Honeywell announced Aug. 20 that it’s expanded its Smart Energy portfolio by acquiring three utility platforms, intellectual property and related assets from SparkMeter Inc. and its grid-management solutions for utilities. These platforms include:

  • Praxis, a data platform that delivers insights and analytics that help utilities modernize, maximize and monetize their assets;
  • GridScan, a software application that provides simple and immediate visibility into grid-operations performance and distribution-grid health; and
  • GridFin, a financial management application that analyzes and manages energy supply costs, optimizes customer rates, and improves financial performance.

Integrating SparkMeter’s grid-intelligence technologies will reportedly enhance Honeywell Forge Performance+ for Utilities, enabling delivery of scalable, data-driven solutions designed to modernize grid infrastructures, and addressing increasing energy demands.

"As the demand for energy continues to grow, utilities are facing new challenges that can impact their ability to quickly and efficiently modernize their infrastructures to meet these needs,” says Amol Motivala, president of Honeywell Smart Energy. “Combining SparkMeter’s technologies with Honeywell Forge Performance+ for Utilities will let us provide advanced tools that automate, simplify and optimize users’ daily planning, operations and existing grid assets. Expanding our smart energy portfolio will ensure our customers can navigate changing energy demands efficiently, allowing more comprehensive data management, business intelligence and analytics for utilities."
