ISA names eight members as fellows

ISA recognizes members who have made exceptional contributions to the automation profession

The International Society of Automation congratulated eight individuals on Jan. 27 after elevating them to the distinguished grade of ISA Fellow in the class of 2026. The esteemed Fellow member grade is one of ISA's highest honors, recognizing only senior members who have made exceptional contributions to the automation profession in practice or in academia.

“ISA is honored to recognize these outstanding achievers, whose remarkable contributions have advanced the automation industry,” says Ashley Weckwerth, ISA president. “We thank everyone who submitted nominations and congratulate those being elevated to Fellow. It’s a privilege to recognize their accomplishments."

ISA’s eight new Fellows are:

  • John Cusimano, of Armexa, for pioneering cybersecurity integration in industrial automation, leading ISA/IEC 62443 standards, and advancing education and best practices in control systems and cybersecurity through community leadership.
  • Sarah Fluchs, of Admeritia GmbH, for pioneering cybersecurity integration into industrial automation engineering, leading standards efforts, and bridging the gap between control engineering and cybersecurity through research, tools and international community leadership.
  • Ramachandra Kerur, of Sunlux Technovations Pvt. Ltd., for pioneering automation and fault-tolerant control systems for defense, space, metropolitan and industrial applications, enabling safe, uninterrupted operations in critical environments, impacting more than 100 space and industrial missions.
  • Rao Mannepalli, of Leidos, for pioneering leadership and sustained contributions in developing aerospace technologies and systems, including missiles, launch vehicles and weapons systems to advance national defense and space exploration.
  • Andrew McDonald, of Future of Manufacturing LLC, for pioneering a standard communication language for packaging machinery, and championing standards and innovation in digitalizing manufacturing by applying advanced technologies.
  • Glenn Anthony Merrell for contributing to industrial control system security, training, automation and control systems, critical infrastructure protection, and advancing standards and security workforce development.
  • Eloise L. Roche, of SIS-TECH Solutions LP for contributing to the process industries’ functional safety in safety instrumented system (SIS) technology by developing guidance, standards, training courses, publications and presentations.
  • Constantino Seixas Filho, of Accenture, for pioneering control and automation engineering education, and advancing remote, operations center implementation across Brazil, shaping automation’s growth and professionalization in Latin America.
