Yokogawa Corp. of America announced Mar. 9 the return of its third-annual STEMpowerment Camp, an immersive, hands-on program that introduces mostly greater-Houston high school students to real-world applications of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The camp will be hosted in July at Yokogawa’s Sugar Land, Texas, office in July. Applications are being accepted through May 31.

STEMpowerment Camp provides students with direct exposure to emerging technologies and career pathways across the STEM landscape. Presentations span a broad range of disciplines, including life sciences, robotics, artificial intelligence, autonomous manufacturing technology, and more. Led by industry professionals, each session brings STEM concepts to life through interactive demonstrations and collaborative activities that encourage exploration and innovation.

In addition to technical learning, the program emphasizes personal development. Each day features dedicated empowerment and leadership-building sessions designed to boost confidence and strengthen communication skills. The camp also incorporates movement-based vitality breaks to help students recharge, support brain health, and stay fully engaged throughout the day.

STEMpowerment Camp mostly serves high school students across Greater Houston and surrounding communities, reflecting Yokogawa’s commitment to supporting the next generation of leaders pursuing STEM education and careers. By pairing advanced technical exposure with confidence-building experiences, the program also aims to help address the gender gap in STEM fields.
