Cognesense buys Pyroban, Pyropress, Ex-tech, Petrel and Ex Solutions

Cognesense reported April 7 that it’s purchased Pyroban, Pyropress, Ex-tech, Petrel and Ex Solutions, formerly known as Pioneer Safety Group. These companies are U.K.-based providers of ATEX and IECEx-certified explosion protection and safety solutions. They’re joining Cognesense’s present Varec, L&J Technologies, Shand & Jurs and Sonitus Systems divisions.

All existing customer contacts, products, services and certifications will remain unchanged. Their operations will continue from existing facilities in the U.K. and France.

Specializing in environmental measurement, monitoring and protection, Cognesense reports its latest acquisitions deepen its existing capabilities, and add certified explosion protection, hazardous-area compliance, inspection services and support. These products and services are essential wherever regulations mandate explosion protection in many industries, including energy, chemicals, water, aviation fuel, aerospace and defense, infrastructure, power and utilities, and food and beverage.
