Twiehaus appointed CEO of Wago
Wago Group announced July 17 that Björn Twiehaus, 48, has been appointed CEO, and will take over his new position on Sept. 17, completing the family-owned company’s management board. He succeeds Jürgen Koopsingraven, who’s been serving as interim CEO along with his role as CFO.
Since pioneering spring-pressure connection technology, the company headquartered in Minden, Germany, grew into a leading electrical interconnection and automation provider. It adds that Twiehaus will continue its success story, and further drive international growth, innovation and business development.
Wago reports that Twiehaus is a mechanical engineer with extensive, international experience in the electronics and automotive supplier industries. Most recently, he served as CEO of Marquardt Group, a global, family-owned mechatronics specialist. Before that, he held leadership positions for more than 20 years at automative supplier Forvia Hella. He was a member of its management board, was responsible for it electronics division from 2020 onwards, and drove profitable growth by capitalizing on key industry trends, such as e-mobility, autonomous driving and connectivity. Twiehaus studied mechanical engineering in Osnabrück and has a business administration degree.
“First of all, I’d like to thank Jürgen Koopsingraven, who successfully led Wago while serving as both CEO and CFO with great dedication, and will now be able to fully focus on his responsibilities as CFO again,” says Christian Hohorst, shareholder and member of Wago’s supervisory board. “As a family-owned company, we think in generations, not in quarters. This stability, together with our closeness to our employees and customers, is what makes us strong. We’re delighted to have found in Björn Twiehaus a leader who shares our values as a family business, and combines deep technological expertise with international growth experience.”
Twiehaus adds, “Wago stands for quality, reliability and pioneering spirit in connection and automation technology. I look forward to shaping the next chapters of this journey together with approximately 9,000 colleagues worldwide, and continuing Wago’s development with a strong customer focus and close alignment to our markets.”
