E Tech adds Rainbow Robotics to U.S. robotics servicing portfolio
E Tech Group reported Sept. 22 that it will work as a serving system integrator for Rainbow Robotics collaborative robots. This will expand E Tech’s collaborative robotics offering across the U.S. It will deploy and integrate Rainbow’s collaborative robots across U.S. laboratory and industrial automation applications, including machine tending, welding, palletizing, inspection and assembly. Under the agreement, E Tech will provide installation at customer sites and first-level service, including authorized warranty-related support.
“E Tech’s systems integration expertise, particularly in laboratory automation, made the company a natural fit for Rainbow Robotics,” says Luke (Woochang) Jung, director of Rainbow Robotics USA. “Pairing that experience with our collaborative robot portfolio gives customers a strong combination of robotics technology and engineering expertise across laboratory and industrial automation applications.”
Rainbow’s collaborative robots serve in laboratory, life sciences, and food and beverage applications. They include NSF/ANSI 169-certified models with IP66 protection and full-aluminum construction to support hygienic and washdown applications. The company is a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, and its collaborative robots also provide application-specific capabilities, such as a dedicated welding interface with built-in weaving patterns.
For its laboratory automation projects, E Tech provides robotic workcell integration, connectivity among laboratory instruments, schedulers and LIMS platforms, controls and data integration, and validation and documentation support. These capabilities help users integrate robotics into existing laboratory automation environments.
“Expanding our collaborative robotics offering gives users greater flexibility in selecting the right technology for their application,” adds Sura Hadi, director of lab Automation and Industrial Robotics at E Tech Group. “Rainbow Robotics brings capabilities that complement our existing robotics offering, particularly for applications with specialized hygienic, washdown and laboratory requirements. Combined with E Tech’s engineering and integration expertise, we can help customers move from selecting the right robotic platform to implementing a complete automation solution.”
