Dust Networks' wireless sensor network technology speeds time-to-market for Novazone's fresh produce shipping solution
HAYWARD, Calif. and LIVERMORE, Calif. (April 23, 2007) – Dust Networks, a provider of low-power wireless sensor networking (WSN) systems, and Novazone, a provider of clean technology solutions for food and water, have announced that Dust Networks has been selected as the WSN provider for Novazone’s ozone-based products. The first Novazone product to integrate Dust’s network-ready SmartMesh products is the new PurFresh produce shipping solution.
NovazoneÂ’s PurFresh product is integrated into a shipping containerÂ’s air flow system and uses ozone to reduce decay, improve quality and enhance safety of fresh produce shipped worldwide. With the system, ozone concentration levels are monitored and controlled via wireless plant-level communications based on Dust NetworksÂ’ WSN products. The Dust-enabled solution allows all containers to be monitored from a central location in a shipping yard, with no need for monitoring of individual containers. By using DustÂ’s network-ready products, based on the companyÂ’s Time Synchronized Mesh Protocol (TSMP), Novazone was able to bring PurFresh to market significantly faster than it would have with other solutions.
