BP and Schneider Electric Software have signed a global licensing agreement for Schneider's Spiral Suite software that includes its planning and supply and distribution optimization modules. Schneider's expert development and support teams will work with BP to deploy the software across its global refinery portfolio.

BP reports that deploying this enhanced hydrocarbon supply chain optimization solution is key to its fuels business to improve commercial performance.

Spiral Suite is a supply chain management solution for hydrocarbon processing that eliminates the inefficiencies of existing point solutions. The software's In-Tool Analytics enable better decisions with cloud-based distributed calculations enabling rapid analysis of more scenarios, and its scalable, architecture enables collaboration across the enterprise.

"We have a long-term collaboration with BP on enterprise crude knowledge management, and this new agreement builds on our two companies' long-standing relationship," says Ravi Gopinath, executive VP at Schneider Electric Software.

"Spiral Suite promises to enhance the refinery business environment, fully supporting all supply chain work processes and driving operational excellence through universal improvement. Spiral Suite gathers enterprise crude knowledge management, planning, scheduling and envelope optimization activities in one software application. The result is a unified solution that uses more accurate, up-to-date data to better explore new opportunities and shrinks the gap between planned and actual results. Driving greater collaboration between diverse user groups across the enterprise, Spiral Suite enables smarter purchasing decisions, reduce operational risk and increase efficiency."
