Optimization

Inland Empire Utility Agency (IEUA) recently undertook a $330 million project to expand its Regional Plant-5 in Chino, Calif., from 16.3 mgd to 22.5 mgd, build a new biosolids facility, and shift part of its treatment process to a membrane-bioreactor (MBR). To balance its water importing, desalting, recycling, groundwater recharging and other tasks, RP-5 standardized on Rockwell Automation’s PlantPAx DCS, power solutions and ThinManager software on VMware virtual servers.
