MEDIUM-VOLTAGE AC DRIVE
MV1000 medium-voltage ac drives combine compact modular design, high efficiency and a good MTBF rate. Smart Harmonics technology reduces input total harmonic distortion to less than 2.5% without filters, which exceeds the requirements of IEEE519-1992. It also provides galvanic isolation between power input and output, and uses two 5-V step bridges per phase to generate a 17-level, line-to-line voltage output delivered to the motor.
VSD WITH SMARTS
Altivar Process is a range of VSDs from 1 hp to 1,500 hp that come with embedded process knowledge, configurable on-board dashboards and a graphical HMI display. An advanced, secure, integrated web server lets operators access technical documentation, support and diagnostics on their mobile devices. The drive provides QR codes for instant access to comprehensive support information.
Large AC-GPM motors are available in stock ratings of 250-1,000 hp, 2300/4000 V, enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) and foot-mounted designs. Custom GMP motors are available in 250-1,500 hp, 460, 575, 2300/400-V, TEFC, foot-mounted designs. Stock motors include cast-iron construction, drive-end slinger, insulated opposite drive end bearing, winding RTDs and provisions for bearing RTDs.
Acopos motor modules combine a servomotor and drive in one compact unit, and are connected to the drive network using a hybrid cable that includes all necessary power and signal lines, and establishes the connection to the Powerlink network. The modules come in three sizes with torque ranging from 1.8 to 12 Nm. An optional fan assembly can provide a performance boost of up to 100%.
Exlar FT45 Series electric rod-style linear actuators provide high thrust, speed and robustness in a compact form factor. They have a continuous force rating to 40,000 lbf, speeds to 60 in/sec and stroke lengths from 6 in. to 8 ft. The idler pulley design simplifies motor installation and belt tensioning/maintenance. A zerk fitting allows re-greasing of the nut assembly without having to disassemble the unit.
PremiumPlus+ ECPM motors include 7.5- and 10-hp models. They use low-cost ferrite magnets in a flux-focusing design said to deliver the high efficiency of rare-earth permanent magnet motors at an induction motor price. They come in standard NEMA frame sizes and mounting dimensions for easy substitution of ac induction motors.
CFW701 HVAC-R variable-speed drives are available in single-phase for 1.5- to 3-hp applications and in three-phase for 1.5- to 175-hp applications. Friendly programming makes for easy and intuitive operation, providing different parameters and engineering units to choose from. The drive offers programming flexibility with an integral PLC combined with network and I/O integration. BACnet MS/TP, Metasys N2 and Modbus-RTU communication protocols are standard.
With the EL7211 servo terminal, the EtherCAT I/O system provides a complete servo drive with an output current of up to 4.5 ARMS integrated with a space-saving, 24-mm wide terminal housing. The terminal is available with an integrated resolver interface or with the company’s One-Cable Technology (OCT) solution. When used in combination with the company’s servo motors, users have a compact, efficient and inexpensive EtherCAT servo system.
PowerFlex 523 ac drives are for simple, standalone machines. To make configuration easier, users can employ a standard USB connection for uploading and downloading drive-configuration files. They also can program the drive through its built-in human interface module, which shows data on the drive’s LCD. Special tools speed up configuration by providing groups of parameters for common applications, and by allowing users to save their settings to new parameter groups.
IronHorse worm gearboxes have aluminum alloy housings, C-flange inputs and hardened, hollow-bore output shafts. They’re available in 30- to 75-mm box sizes, with gear ratios from 10:1 to 100:1. The units feature double-lipped, embedded-oil seals to prevent leakage, epoxy paint inside and outside the reducer to prevent corrosion, and double bearing sets on both shaft ends. The gearboxes are mountable in any direction except motor pointing up.
High torque density, brushless dc motors provide operational efficiencies in excess of 90% using a proprietary low-magnetic circuit design. The frameless motors are composed of two pieces—a rotor and stator—which makes them easy to integrate into an existing assembly. Motors range up to 20 in. O.D. with torques greater than 50 Nm and operational speeds of more than 70 K rpm.

PowerXL Series DG1 adjustable-frequency drives help reduce energy consumption compared to traditional control methods, improve safety and support reliable operations. They incorporate an energy-control algorithm that dynamically adjusts the unit’s operating point to minimize energy consumption. They include onboard industrial communication protocols and built-in harmonic reduction.
AKMH motors are IP69K-rated synchronous servomotors that meet EHEDG, NSF, BISSC and 3A guidelines. They feature a single-cable solution that reduces the number of potential failure modes and minimizes installation time. A smooth surface design and use of corrosion-resistant 316L stainless steel reduce the possibility of bacteria growth. It requires no additional protection, and can be sanitized without covering it or removing it from the machine.
