The 2014 FIRST Robotics Championship is scheduled to be held April 23-26 at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. The latest companies to sponsor this year's events are Mouser, TE Connectivity and Altera, who will sponsor the Hall of Fame area at the event.
Through FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), students in grades K-12 are engaged in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills. The FIRST Robotics Competition provides high-school students with a "real-world engineering" experience.

In this year's Aerial Assist contest, robots built by students must toss the balls into the goals. The FIRST Championship event occurs this week April 23-26 in St. Louis. (Photo: Business Wire)
According to Kevin Hess, Mouser's Vice President of Technical Marketing, the company is dedicated to inspiring and fostering young people's interest in science and technology.
"We are proud to sponsor an event that celebrates the brightest young minds of today and the engineers of the future," said Hess.
The FRC Hall of Fame exhibit will highlight past recipients of the Chairman's Award – the highest honor awarded in FRC. This award goes not to the team that earns the most points in the competition, but to the team that best exemplifies the goals and values of FIRST.
