Discrete AC inputs sense pump and motor power status

Aug. 25, 2025

Model NT2140 discrete AC power input modules have joined the BusWorks NT2000 Ethernet remote I/O family, and can sense on/off AC voltage levels and contact closures to monitor remote equipment activity and detect power faults. They provide six 120 V or 240 VAC optocoupler inputs for sensing the presence or absence of voltage, plus two DC logic I/O channels to monitor/control TTL or 0-32 V logic levels.

A network interface supports Modbus TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP or Profinet protocols to communicate with programmable controllers (PLC/PAC) or other networked devices. An OPC UA server, MQTT client, and RESTful API support Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications.

NTE Ethernet modules provide dual RJ45 ports for network communications, along with their discrete I/O channels. NTX expansion modules add extra I/O channels to monitor more devices. Up to three NTX modules can link to the NTE communication module through an integrated DIN-rail bus, and interface up to 64 I/O over one network IP address. Other NT Series analog and discrete I/O modules offer signal processing functions, and can also be combined to monitor or control voltage, current and temperature signals.
