Narrow radar beam pierces obstructions

Krohne’s Optiwave 1500 has a narrow 4° beam angle and almost no dead zone
March 25, 2026

With a narrow 4° beam angle and almost no dead zone, Optiwave 1500 radar instruments achieve accuracy in tight spaces and in vessels with internal obstructions by avoiding interference from walls or fixtures. Their 80GHz radar technology with its high dynamic range overcomes condensation, and reliably measures foamy or agitated liquids, or powders and bulk solids in dusty environments, as well as in poorly reflective media, while maximizing the measurement ranges, even in small tanks.
