Reliability Best Practices Shared by Award Finalists

Oct. 13, 2015
The 'Reliability Program of the Year' honor goes to...

In a two-part session (TR-6336) Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons during the Emerson Global Users Exchange, four finalists compete for the title of 2015 Reliability Program of the Year. With Emerson experts as moderators, a panel of reliability experts will award the trophy at the end of Wednesday's session based on the company's reliability program, including the use of reliability-centered technologies, work processes, maintenance practices, leadership and return on investment.

The company finalists this year include CMC Steel in South Carolina, Corbion in Blair, Nebraska, Exelon at its LaSalle County Generating Station southwest of Chicago and the Ras Tanura Refinery of Saudi Aramco.

Reliability gets the respect it deserves from these finalists. CMC Steel has very good processes in place for precision maintenance, skill development and innovative application of wireless vibration analysis. At Corbion, strong management and operator support of the reliability program promotes excellent documentation and analysis to eliminate sources of repetitive failure. Exelon's aggressive use of predictive technologies has reduced failures and created a proactive, not reactive, maintenance function. And at Saudi Aramco, strong leadership support promotes a reliability culture realizing significant improvements in critical asset availability.

For those companies interested in participating in next year's competition, stop by the Lifecycle Services for Machinery Health kiosk in the Solve & Support section of the Technology Exhibits.
